Corporate Worship w/My Children
by Bubba
In a culture that tends to view corporate worship as something adults do while children are regulated to age appropriate activities, it is often good to remind myself of a few of the reasons I have for worshiping with my children corporately.

Matthew 21:15-16 | Children were in the temple, a place of worship, to begin with. Then observe how Jesus takes this opportunity to ‘exegete’ Psalm 8:2 for us, applying it to how these little children recognized the Son of David when the learned, self-righteous chief priests and scribes failed to discern who Jesus was. Calvin explains, ‘Since the praises of God are heard from the tongue of infants [in Jesus’ reference to Psalm 8:2], Christ infers from this, that it is not strange if He cause them to be uttered by children who have already acquired the use of speech.’ Jesus rebukes the religious leaders, not the children. This passage shows that Jesus gladly received the praise of children in the assembly. |
